"Real Time Characterization of Polymer Surface Modifications by an Atmospheric-Pressure Plasma Jet: Electrically Coupled versus Remote Mode"

We distinguish two modes of APPJ operation depending on if the plume is coupled to the surface and charged species dominate versus remote treatments where reactive neutrals dominate.  We use a combination of in situ techniques such as ellipsometry with post treatment characterization to determine the interactions of this APP source with a model polymer film.
