"Bio-inspired technologies for unmanned underwater vehicles"

Dr. Cecilia Huertas Cerdeira
Assistant Professor
Department of Mechanical Engineering
University of Maryland, College Park

Millions of years of evolution have equipped biological swimmers with extraordinarily capable locomotion and sensing tools for the underwater environment. Inspired by Nature, our team aims to leverage the underlying principles to develop new technologies that can improve the efficiency and agility of unmanned underwater vehicles. In this talk, two such technologies will be discussed. Full Abstract
