During his PhD work, Dr. Rogerio Jorge focused on the development of hybrid kinetic-fluid models able to describe plasma dynamics at arbitrary collisionalities. This allowed for the successful characterization of several physical mechanisms (such as drift-waves and electron-plasma waves) at both low and high collisionality regimes, and the development of a gyrokinetic model for the periphery region of fusion devices. Currently, he is working on the development of mathematical tools to analytically describe magnetic field stellarator equilibria.
